Entry for citizens of countries that have a visa-free regime with Türkiye is possible with a passport valid for at least 150 days after the day you plan to leave, or ID cards (for citizens of Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, and of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus). It is also necessary to have booked round-trip airline tickets, proof of hotel reservation or rental agreement, proof of financial support, and a health insurance policy with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros.

How to apply for a tourist visa to Türkiye?
To apply for a tourist visa, you will need to follow the steps below:
- Check when to apply;

- Fill out the online application for a Turkish tourist visa;

The application can be submitted 60 days before the date of the trip. On the other hand, you can apply a month before this date.

Fill out the online form to obtain a tourist visa to Türkiye
The first step to completing your Turkish tourist visa application is to fill out the
online visa application form on the Pre-Application System website. The form contains several questions regarding your first and last name, date and place of birth, as well as the reason for applying.
The system will prepare the type of visa you need to apply for and a list of the main documents you need to submit for the visa application. After filling out the form, you will also get a visa interview date.

What documents are required for a tourist visa to Türkiye?
- A completed application form for a Turkish tourist visa;
- Your valid passport or another travel document;
- Two photos in accordance with Turkish visa requirements;
- Certificate of income or savings. You must prove that you have enough money to support yourself for the duration of your stay in Türkiye. You must present a minimum amount of 50 euros for each day you plan to spend in Türkiye. This can be done with recent bank statements, a letter of support from another person, etc.;
- Travel insurance. To travel to Türkiye, you must have travel health insurance. The insurance must cover the entire territory of Türkiye with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros;
- Travel route. Provide a booked flight from your country to Türkiye and back, a bus ticket, or any other proof that you intended to leave Türkiye;
- Proof of residence. Depending on where you will be staying in Türkiye, you will need to present a document as proof of residence.
- Police clearance certificate. This document must be obtained from the relevant authorities in your country of residence and confirm that you have not been involved in any criminal activity in recent years;
- For group trips, documents about the company that organizes the trip are required;
- Documents about your employment status:
- If you are employed: letter of guarantee from your employer and payslips for the last 3 months.
- If you are a business owner: the certificate of foundation and registration of your company, the company's trading license and a statement from the company's bank account showing transactions for the last 3 months.
- If your spouse is applying for a visa: the same documents as listed above for your spouse.
Please note that the Turkish authorities responsible for processing visas in your country of residence have the right to request additional documents from you in addition to those listed above.

What is the deadline for processing an application for a tourist visa to Türkiye?
It may take around 15 working days to process your tourist visa application. In some countries, this deadline may be extended, while in others you may receive a response to your application within three working days of the interview.

Applying for a Turkish e-Visa
- If you are eligible for an e-Visa, you do not need to go through all of the process described above. It is very easy to get an electronic visa to Türkiye for tourist purposes.
- Complete the online application form on the Turkish eVisa website;
- Confirm your application. Within a few minutes, you should receive an email asking you to confirm that you have started your eVisa application. Click on the link you received, which will take you back to the eVisa application website;
- Pay the fee. You will then need to pay the eVisa application fee;
- Download your e-Visa. You will again receive an email with a link that will take you to the same website where you will need to download your eVisa;
- Print out your e-Visa. A printed version of the e-Visa must be presented at the Turkish port of entry.

Please note that if you overstay your Turkish visa, you may be fined, deported or banned from entering Türkiye in the future for a period of time.
If you do not enjoy visa-free entry to Türkiye, you may need an airport transit visa.
A transit visa is mandatory for all travelers under the Turkish visa regime who intend to:
- Pass immigration control;
- Stay in Türkiye overnight for a transfer.
Depending on your nationality, you can get an e-transit visa or a regular visa with a sticker. The transit visa sticker may be marked as:
- Single transit
- Double transit

What documents are required to issue a transit visa?
Necessary documents for issuing a Turkish transit visa:
- Completed application form for Turkish transit visa, travel insurance, confirmation of professional status, etc.;
- Passport or another travel document;
- Two photos;
- Certificate of income or savings;
- An onward plane ticket that will take you to your destination country;
- A visa or other document that gives the right to enter the country of destination;
- Hotel reservation;
- Certificate of police clearance.
Please note that depending on your nationality and country of residence, you may be asked to provide additional documents.

How long does it take to get a transit visa to Türkiye?
The Turkish Embassy in your country of residence will process your visa within approximately 15 working days. In some countries, this period can last up to three working days.

Applying for a Turkish e-Visa for transit
To obtain an eVisa, you must first complete an online application form on the
eVisa website. Then print out the document to present it at a Turkish port of entry.
To import pets into Türkiye, all pets must have:
1. Microchip for pets;
To enter Türkiye, your pet must be identified with a microchip.
2. Vaccinations;
Your dog or cat must be vaccinated against rabies 30 days to 12 months before entry. Please note that Türkiye does not recognize the vaccine for 3 years.
3. Rabies antibody titer test;
If your pet is not vaccinated as required above or has a 3-year rabies vaccination, your dog or cat can be tested for Rabies Antibody Titer (FAVN) at an approved laboratory before entering Türkiye. Cats and dogs entering Türkiye from the United States that are vaccinated against rabies are exempt from this requirement.
4. Health certificate;
If traveling to Türkiye from the United States, a USDA-accredited veterinarian must complete a Türkiye Veterinary Certificate for approval at your state's USDA or CFIA office within 48 hours of travel for pets traveling from the US or Canada, respectively (one form per animal). If you are entering Türkiye from a country other than the US or Canada, your vet can complete an EU health certificate.
5. Treatment of internal and external parasites;
Before your pet can enter Türkiye, it must be treated for internal parasites (echinococci) and external parasites (fleas, ticks) and listed in the health certificate.
