How to get a work permit?

In Belarus, the process of submitting an application for a work permit must be initiated by the employer. The employer must submit a completed application to the Department of Home Affairs, along with a copy of the employee's passport and proof of payment of the processing fee. The term of processing an employment permit is approximately 15 days.

A work permit in Belarus is usually issued for one year. However, highly qualified employees can obtain a permit for a period of two years.

Please note that Belarus has special agreements with some countries, including the Russian Federation, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Armenia, which allow citizens to work in the country without a permit.

After the work permit is approved, potential employees can apply for a visa to enter Belarus. Please note that foreigners who can enter Belarus visa-free and plan to work in the country for no more than three months do not need a visa. However, if foreigners plan to work in the territory of the Republic of Belarus for more than three months, they should apply for a visa.

The following types of visas are provided:

● C – short-term visa. It can be single-entry, double-entry or multiple-entry. Type C entry visa is issued for a validity period not exceeding 90 days.

● D - long-term visa. Type D entry visa is multiple-entry. Entry visa of type D is issued for a period of more than 90 days, but not more than five years.

To obtain a work visa to Belarus, foreign workers must provide the following documents:

● Completed visa application form

● Photo 

● Valid passport with at least two blank pages

● Proof of medical insurance

● A certified copy of the applicant's work permit

● Proof of visa fee payment

If the employee chooses to send the application by mail, he/she must include the return postage costs in his/her expenses.
