How to make an appointment at a public clinic in Turkey? Let's talk further.
Registration in the health care system of Turkey
To be able to make an appointment with a doctor at a public clinic in Turkey, you will need to register with the Turkish Social Security Agency (SGK). If you work for a Turkish employer, they will usually register you in the system and cover part of your medical expenses.
If you are self-employed or do not work at all, you will need to register yourself. To do this, visit any social protection center in the Republic of Turkey, there are about 600 of them in the country.
● For registration, it is necessary to provide a residence permit, passport and taxpayer identification number (TIN).
● Choose a healthcare provider - any public hospital.
● Pay fees (online, by bank transfer or at the nearest SGK office).
● Get a health insurance card.
Seek the help of a highly qualified immigration lawyer to simplify the process of registering with the Turkish Social Security Agency (SGK).
Holders of a medical insurance policy can also get help from a doctor in Turkey.
How to make an appointment at a public clinic in Turkey?
There are three ways to make an appointment at a public hospital in Turkey:
1. In a medical institution.
2. By hotline number.
3. Through the Internet.
● Method 1 – making an appointment at the hospital
Visit the nearest state clinic and make an appointment with the administrator of the medical institution. This method is useful because you can visit the doctor on the same day.
It is better to come for an appointment early in the morning, because on average one doctor can accept 40 patients a day. Then, when the doctor's quota is filled, it is impossible to make an appointment for that day.
Undoubtedly, this method of making an appointment is the most common and common for citizens of many countries of the world, but it has its drawbacks: you can wait a long time for your turn, especially if there are many patients. Also, the specialist may not accept on this day or be on vacation.
● Method 2 – registration by hotline number
Call the hotline number 182 and make an appointment with a support service employee. The disadvantage of this method is that you need to know the Turkish language to communicate with the employee.
You can make an appointment by phone no earlier than 1 day before the scheduled date of the visit to the doctor. If you have problems and cannot come to the appointment, call 182 no later than 80 minutes before the appointment to cancel or reschedule the appointment.
● Method 3 – via the Internet
You can make an appointment with a doctor through the Central Doctor's Appointment System (MHRS). To do this, you can use the MHRS mobile application, compatible with the operating systems IOS and Android, or visit the MHRS website.
To visit a doctor, you need to be registered on the portal and have a TR identification number:
1. Enter your first name, last name, residential address and TR ID number.
2. Add an email address for communication.
3. After filling in the application data, the system will offer to choose a clinic and the necessary specialist.
The advantage of this registration method is that you can make an appointment at any medical institution in Turkey on the most convenient date for you.
After making an appointment, you will receive an e-mail to the indicated mail confirming the appointment.
You can also cancel the recording in the application or in your personal account on the website.
Is it possible to make an appointment through the e-government portal?
You can also make an appointment with a doctor through the Turkish e-Government portal. Log in using online banking or receive a password by mail.
