Work in Guinea-Bissau for China citizenship

    The Government of Guinea-Bissau doesn’t distinguish between tourist and business visas separately. Business travelers can apply for a visa for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months.

    Most foreign citizens traveling to Guinea-Bissau to work must obtain a long-term visa (3 months or more).

    Requirements for obtaining

    The requirements for obtaining a visa to Guinea-Bissau may be very different in embassies. Applicants should contact the nearest embassy, consulate or diplomatic mission for the most up-to-date and accurate information regarding visa applications and accompanying documents.

    Foreign nationals are generally required to provide the following documents if they wish to obtain a visa and travel to Guinea-Bissau:

• A valid passport with at least one blank page for the entry stamp
• Recent photos with the size of the passport 
• Biometric data, including fingerprints
• Confirmation of yellow fever vaccination
• Payment of the visa fee.

    Application process

    Foreign citizens can choose one of two options when applying for a visa to travel and work in Guinea-Bissau. They can apply for a visa upon arrival at Guinea-Bissau international airport or apply online in advance.

    Foreigners who intend to apply for a visa on arrival must have a valid passport, as well as a letter of authorization from the Migration Service of Guinea-Bissau. The process of receiving this email is as follows:

1. The applicant must send a scanned copy of their passport to the contact person in Guinea-Bissau, along with detailed information about their trip, including the reason for their arrival in Guinea-Bissau and the planned length of stay. In this case, the contact person will be the employer.
2. After receiving these documents, the employer must bring them to the Migration Service of Guinea-Bissau. There, it will request a permission letter.
3. The chief officer of the migration service will review the request and make a decision.
4. After the request is approved, the employer must send a letter of permission to the applicant.
5. The applicant will be required to have a printed copy of the permit letter with them and provide it when applying for a visa.

    If the employee applies online instead, they will receive an email which is confirmed their visa approval. You will need to print out this confirmation and present it to the visa officer along with your passport when traveling to Guinea-Bissau.
