Relevant documents to confirm the visa application:
•A completed and signed visa application form, in English, together with one passport-sized photo.
•A valid passport with at least three blank pages, valid for more than the duration of the entire course plus three months.
•Confirmation of sufficient funds equivalent to 75% of the minimum wage in the country for each month of study.
•Return tickets to the final destination, if possible;
•Confirmation from the host/hotel for the duration of the study.
•Sponsorship letter, including a copy of the identity document and contact details of the sponsor/sponsors, if the applicant is sponsored by a third party;
•Confirmation of scholarship, if applicable.
•Students not pursuing a higher education qualification must provide a letter of enrolment/acceptance from a local institution licensed by a national regulator. For courses below MQF level 5, documentation must include proof that the student will study for at least 15 hours per week, a copy of the class schedule for each month of study.
•Students pursuing a higher education qualification must provide a letter of enrolment/acceptance from a local educational institution licensed by a national regulator. The document must contain confirmation that 60 points of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) have been obtained within a maximum of one year. The same proportion will be applied to other credit systems. These students must also provide evidence of their class schedule for each month of study.
•Proof of sufficient language proficiency to be eligible to apply for the chosen course of study.
•Travel health insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros.
•The insurance policy must cover the entire period of study, not the period of validity of the visa originally issued to the applicant.
•Birth certificate/family book, in case of minors.
•Permission of two parents or legal guardians in case of minors. The permit must be duly certified. In case of any doubts, the Consul can always request additional information or documents.
•A page with the passport data of both parents or legal guardians in the case of minors.
•Confirmation of payment received by the educational institution for the applicant's course:
1.For courses worth up to 1,000 euros, a receipt for full payment must be provided.
2.For courses costing more than 1,000 euros but less than 2,500 euros, a receipt covering up to 75% of the course cost must be requested.
3.For courses with a value equal to or greater than 2,500 euros, a receipt covering up to 50% of the course cost must be requested.
•Any additional documents that the consular office may deem necessary.
The duration of courses does not exceed 90 calendar days
Citizens of third countries who attend courses lasting no more than 90 days are issued a Schengen short-term visa (C-Visa).
The applicants must submit their applications to one of the submission points indicated below, where the applicant resides or is legally present, along with supporting documents:
•Directly in one of the representations or consular institutions of Malta.
•In the premises of another member state representing Malta.
•On the territory of the authorized external service provider.
•Along with the application, the applicant must provide biometric data.
If approved, the visa is granted on a multiple-entry basis for the entire course, plus a 7-day grace period, provided the total does not exceed 90 days.
Under normal circumstances, the processing time from the date of submission of the application to the final decision should not exceed 15 working days.
The above procedure does not apply to students who are included in the list of visa-free citizens.
