Rules of entry and stay
Under the new Nigeria visa policy 2020, some nationalities and officials can visit Nigeria on short-term visa-free visits. Holders of official travel documents (or Laissez Passer) from international organizations such as the UN, AU (African Union), ECOWAS, and AfDB (African Development Bank) can visit the country without a visa for up to 90 days if they meet other conditions for driving.

Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for all travelers to Nigeria. Therefore, travelers should ensure that their international vaccination certificates are valid before traveling. General steps to get Nigeria Visa:

Processing time
The processing of the Nigerian e-Visa may take several business days, depending on the type of visa and the volume of the application.
Documents required to enter Nigeria with pets:
- Before traveling, your pet must have an ISO-compatible microchip installed.
- Rabies vaccination must be done at least three months before traveling to Nigeria and no more than 12 months.
- No earlier than 30 days after the rabies vaccination, a rabies titer test must be performed (do this before travel).
- Entry of an animal requires an import permit and a health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian.
- Pets can enter Nigeria through Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos or Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja as checked baggage or air cargo only.
There is no list of prohibited breeds in Nigeria. Mandatory quarantine for imported animals is also not required.

Permissible driving age
The minimum driving age in Nigeria is 18 years. However, most car rental companies do not allow drivers under the age of 21 to rent a car.
Do you need an international driver's license in Nigeria?
Tourists can drive independently in Nigeria with an international driver's license for up to 30 days. To apply for an international driver's license online, you need to provide a valid driver's license from your country and personal information.
