Today the Macedonian the education system offers public and private institutions where you can get bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. The higher education system of North Macedonia is represented by 19 universities with 311 study programs.

What documents are required for admission to a university?

In general, the list of documents that you need to submit for admission may differ slightly, depending on the chosen university and field. In general, for admission to a Polish higher education institution, you must submit:

• Copies of your previous diplomas or certificates, including your education certificate.

• Birth Certificate

• Photo cards

• Passport or national identity card

• Proof of English proficiency. For example: IELTS, TOEFL or C1 Advanced certificates. Scores must meet the minimum requirements set by Macedonian universities.

• Academic references

• Biography/Resume

• Additional documents such as GRE, GMAT, or LSAT scores, etc. (only required for certain courses).

Who can apply for scholarships in Macedonia?

There are various scholarship opportunities for international students who wish to study in North Macedonia. Depending on your country of origin and degree of study, there are different financing options. Can a foreign student work in Macedonia?

Yes, a foreign student can work while studying in Macedonia. They only need to obtain a work permit to combine their studies with work in Macedonia. The work permit will be valid as long as the study permit is valid. An applicant can apply for a work permit if he has:

• Valid residence permit

• Has been enrolled full-time at a university in Macedonia.

Note that an international student can work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week. However, they may work full-time during the holidays.
