The following positions are most lacking in highly skilled professionals in France: accounting and finance professionals, agricultural specialists, professional nurses, application programmers, pharmaceutical assistants, administrative managers, physiotherapists, civil engineers, energy specialists, mechanical engineers, sales managers, electrical engineers, IT analysts, electronics engineers, software developers, financial managers, telecommunications engineers, forestry workers, human resources managers, and healthcare assistants.

What types of work visas are available in France


In France, there are several types of work visas that allow you to move to the country, the most common of which are:

1. Talent Passport Visa - for highly skilled professionals, researchers, and artists. This visa allows long-term residence with an emphasis on attracting the best talent to France.

2. EU Blue Card – Designed for highly qualified non-EU professionals, the EU Blue Card offers a path to work in high-demand sectors with the right to long-term residence.

3. Seasonal Work Visa – Designed for short-term seasonal work, this visa allows foreign workers to work in agriculture, tourism and other seasonal industries in France.

4. Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) Visa – for employees transferred within the same company to France, allowing them to work in a French branch for a long period.

Special work permit in France “Talant profession médicale et de la pharmacie” for medical professionals


France has introduced a new type of residence permit “Talant profession médicale et de la pharmacie” for medical professionals from non-EU countries. This document will allow the relevant category of specialists to work in France without the need to obtain an additional work permit. The document will be issued for a period of 4 years with the possibility of extension up to three times.

It is intended for foreign doctors with the following specialties: dental surgeon, midwife, as well as pharmacists who wish to work in France.


Conditions for obtaining a card for medical professionals to work in France


To be eligible for this residence permit, the medical professional applicant must meet the following criteria:

- Be a foreign medical professional, a practicing doctor who is qualified outside the European Union, i.e. have a medical diploma issued by a country that is not a member of the European Union (EU) or is not a party to the agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA).

- Be in the profession referred to in articles L 4111-1, L 4221-12-1 of the French Health Code: doctor, dental surgeon, obstetrician or midwife, pharmacist, etc.

- Have a decision of appointment or a certificate of the right to temporary residence in France.

- Pass the knowledge verification test (EVC).

- Have an income between 42,406 euros and 53,836 euros per year.

- Sign the Charter of Values ​​of the Republic and the Principle of Secularism.

A feature of the new permit is that family members of its holder do not automatically receive the right to obtain a residence permit under the family reunification program.
