Procedure for obtaining permanent residence in the Republic of Vietnam.
You can apply for permanent residence in Vietnam after 5 years of permanent residence in this country and after passing the naturalization process. A marriage certificate with a citizen of the Republic of Vietnam grants the right to obtain a residence permit for a period of 5 years with the prospect of submitting an application for permanent residence registration.
Among the main documents that must be submitted in order to obtain a permanent residence permit, the following must be:
- Document confirming knowledge of the state language;
- Valid international passport;
- Certificate from the place of work;
- A document confirming the residence permit;
- Certificate of tax calculations;
- Completed application form.
All listed documents must be issued in the official language and notarized. The application review period from the moment of submission is 115 days. Children (under 15 years of age) receive such permission together with their parents.
Based on Vietnamese law, there are several options for obtaining citizenship, including:
- By Origin.
Citizenship by Origin is granted to the child automatically, if there are both parents who are citizens of the state of Vietnam. Moreover, in this case, the child can be born in any corner of the globe. If one of the parents is a foreigner, then the place of birth of the child is decisive, and the child will be a citizen of Vietnam only if he is born on the territory of this country.
- By the right of the birthright.
Vietnamese citizens automatically include children born in the Republic by birthright, but their parents are unknown (find children). This category also includes children born to parents who live permanently in Vietnam, but at the time of birth of children who do not have citizenship.
- Through naturalization.
Citizenship through naturalization, in principle, is available to any foreigner if certain conditions are met, including:
- the period of permanent residence in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which is at least 5 years;
- full age;
- knowledge of the Vietnamese language.
In the Republic of Vietnam, adulthood occurs at the age of 18. The most difficult thing for foreign citizens is to acquire the Vietnamese language. Successful learning of the state language, which is one of the most difficult, requires good teachers and great patience. A potential applicant for SRV citizenship also needs to study the country's history, traditions and careful implementation of all its laws.
