What scholarships are available for students in educational institutions in Iceland?
A student visa is required for citizens who are arriving from countries outside the EU/EEA and planning to study in Iceland for more than three months.

Can International students work in Iceland?
Students who aren’t EU/EEA citizens can apply for a work permit for up to 15 hours per week during the academic year. Employment can’t start until the work permit is approved. Students can apply for a work permit if they have a written employment contract.
Students who are EU/EEA citizens do not need to obtain a work permit.

The education for sustainable energy development (ESED) scholarship from the Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership (GSEP) is one of the best scholarships in Iceland for international students. In particular, GSEP is looking for outstanding students from developing countries to continue research and development on sustainable energy.
Robert S. McNamara fellowship program. Scholarship size: 40,000 dollars USA. The Robert S. McNamara fellowship program from the World Bank is aimed at economic researchers from developing countries. Candidates who have successfully completed the scholarship program have a unique opportunity to work with World Bank Research economists on policy-related projects.
