Study visa
A study visa is issued to international students who are pursuing an academic/non-academic degree and are conducting research in Nepal. It is issued by the Immigration Department on the recommendation of the relevant department (Ministry of Education). It is also issued to teachers/professors involved in academic work (teaching) in Nepal on the recommendation of the relevant institutions of the Government of Nepal. It is issued for a maximum of one year in accordance with the recommendation or duration of training.
Required documents:
- Printed application form for a study visa to Nepal (to be filled out online);
- Letter of recommendation from the Ministry of Education of Nepal;
- Original letter of admission to an educational institution in Nepal;
- Proof of sufficient financial resources: bank statements issued during the last week;
- Photocopies of your passport;
- A photocopy of your Nepalese visa;
- If you apply with your dependents: marriage certificate and/or birth certificate, if available;
- If you are applying for a study visa extension: your progress report card
- If you are a researcher:
- Offer letter or appointment from an educational institution in Nepal
- General agreement between an institution in Nepal and an institution abroad
- Payment of the fee for a study visa to Nepal.
