Work/Business

There are 2 types of visas:

A business visa issued to foreigners entering the country for business or investment purposes;
A work visa issued by the Nepalese Immigration Department after a foreigner has already entered the country with a tourist visa and provided the necessary documents.

Business visa

If you are traveling to Nepal for business purposes, such as investing, you will need the following documents:

Printed application form for a business visa to Nepal (completed online);
Letter of recommendation from the Department of industry or other relevant department of the Government of Nepal;
Foreign investment acceptance letter issued by the Department of industry;
A copy of the company's registration certificate;
Copy of the PAN / VAT certificate;
Copy of the share certificate;
Company progress report from the Ministry of industry;
Photocopies of your passport (including a copy of the last page of your visa)
Photocopy of your Nepalese visa;
Your personal data;
Payment of the business visa fee.

A business visa, regardless of the time period, provides for the possibility of multiple entry.

Work visa

A work visa is issued by the Immigration Department.

Foreign nationals who are engaged in processing documents and legal formalities for obtaining a work visa at the relevant institutions (Ministry/Department) of the Government of Nepal can stay in Nepal on “tourist visas”. The visa category changes from ”tourist“ to ”non-tourist“ after all the necessary documents are completed and an application for a ”work visa" is submitted to the DOI. A tourist visa is automatically canceled when the visa category changes. The duration of a work visa is determined by the period for which a work/work permit was obtained from the Department of Labor.

Documents required for applying for a work visa:

Letter of recommendation from the relevant government agency;
Work permit from the Department of Labor;
Work contract from the Ministry of internal affairs;
Appointment letter/contract;
Tax audit of the hiring organization/institution/agency;
The applicant's tax permit (for restoration), if the taxes were paid individually;
General agreement with the Social Security Council (NGO/MNUO);
Photocopy of your passport and visa;
Completed online form (working).
