Documents required to enter Serbia:

When entering Serbia, a foreigner must have the following documents:

- Valid passport, which must be valid for at least three months after the end of the trip.

- Proof of funds for staying in Serbia.

- A medical certificate of vaccination or absence of infectious diseases, if you are coming from a region where infectious diseases have been recorded, in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Health.

- A notarized power of attorney from the second parent if the minor child is traveling with one parent. If the child is traveling with a third person, powers of attorney from both parents or guardians are required.

- It is recommended to have a medical insurance policy valid for the entire period of stay in Serbia with coverage of at least 20,000 euros.


Please note! Border services may require proof of sufficient financial resources to cover the costs of living in Serbia. The minimum amount is 50 euros per day of stay. You can confirm the availability of funds by cash, bank statement, traveler's checks, credit cards or a letter of guarantee.


Visa to Serbia: basic requirements and the process of obtaining

Depending on your citizenship and purpose of travel, you may need a visa to enter Serbia.

If you don't need a visa to enter Serbia, the length of your stay depends on the country you come from and can be 14, 30, or 90 days. This rule applies to tourist travel, visiting relatives or friends, participating in business meetings, cultural or sporting events. For stays longer than this, a visa or residence permit is required.

Citizens of countries that are not part of the visa-free regime must have a visa to enter.


Types of visas issued by diplomatic and consular missions to travel to Serbia:

• Short-term visa (visa C)

• Long-term visa (visa D)

Visa C (for a period of up to 90 days) is intended for short-term travel for tourism, business and other purposes. It allows single, double or multiple entries to Serbia. The duration of stay on this visa cannot exceed 90 days within six months from the date of first entry. Visa C with multiple entries is valid for up to one year.

Visa D (long-term visa) allows entry and stay in Serbia for 90 to 180 days. It is issued to those who need a visa to enter Serbia and plan to apply for temporary residence in the country.


Documents for obtaining a visa to Serbia

The basic package of documents for obtaining a visa includes:

- Valid passport: The passport must be valid for at least 90 days from the date of visa issuance.

- Invitation letter:

    • For a private visit - an invitation certified by the relevant authority of the Republic of Serbia.

    • For a business visit - an invitation from a company in Serbia.

    • For a tourist trip - a receipt of payment for the trip from a travel agency (voucher or other type of receipt).

- A completed visa application form (PDF).

- Photo: Size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.

- Return ticket or itinerary: If you are traveling by car, a copy of your driver's license and insurance is required.

- Confirmation of sufficient funds for accommodation in Serbia.

- Visa fee.

- Valid travel health insurance.

Procedure for obtaining a visa to Serbia

You need to apply for a visa before arriving in Serbia. The visa application is submitted to the diplomatic or consular missions of the Republic of Serbia abroad.
