The Digital Nomad Visa allows foreign workers who work remotely for foreign companies to legally reside in South Korea.
Requirements.
- Work for a company abroad or be a freelancer abroad.
- Earn more than 85 million won ($66,000) in 2023. To get a visa, you need to earn twice the gross national income (GNI) of Korea per capita for the previous year.
- You must be 18 years old and have at least one year of experience in the same industry.
- Contact the Korean embassy in your country. If you are already in Korea, you can transfer from a visa-free visa (B-1), tourist visa (B-2) or short-term visa (C-3)
- Personal health insurance covering at least 100 million won for hospital treatment and repatriation during your stay in Korea.
Can I work in Korea with a digital nomad/worker visa?
Foreigners who come on such a visa cannot be hired in Korea or engage in any local income-generating activities during their stay in the country. They can work for a company abroad.
What documents are required?

Can I bring my family to Korea with this visa?
Yes, spouses and children under the age of 18 can accompany the Digital Nomad visa holder to South Korea if they are listed during the application process. Uncles, brothers, sisters, and grandparents cannot accompany you.
