When will the strike take place at Palma de Mallorca Airport?

Swissport ground handling staff are planning four partial strikes. On each of the specified days, work will be suspended twice: from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time.

The strikes are scheduled for:

- August 8, 2026

Negotiations between Swissport and the CCOO union, with the participation of the Balearic Islands Arbitration and Mediation Service, ended without an agreement. Employees are demanding adequate staffing levels, compliance with the sectoral collective bargaining agreement, a review of wages, better work organization, and enhanced protection against high temperatures. Following the failed negotiations, the union confirmed that the strikes will take place according to the announced schedule.

The strike does not involve all airport staff, but rather employees of Swissport, which provides ground handling services for certain carriers. According to the CCOO union, the company works with the following airlines in Palma de Mallorca:

- TAP Air Portugal

- Danish Air Transport (DAT)
