It's always a great idea to have a delicious meal and spend time enjoying aesthetic pleasure. We have prepared a list of the top 10 best restaurants in Europe for your unforgettable time out
The British magazine Restaurant, with the support of sponsors San Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, has been publishing the "50 best restaurants in the world" rating since 2002. In recent years, this top has become as prestigious as the famous Michelin rating.
We analyzed the rating for 2023 for you and prepared the top of the best restaurants in Europe. Regardless of the position of the restaurant on the list, we assure you that every establishment on this list deserves the attention of tourists.
1st place - El Celler de Can Roca, Gerona, Spain
This institution was opened in 1986 by brothers Juan, Josep and Jordi Roca. The restaurant already topped the Restaurant rating in 2013 and 2015. El Celler de Can Roca is the winner of three Michelin stars for its modern take on Catalan cuisine. The restaurant usually uses local products from Catalonia. Their taste qualities are enriched by methods of molecular gastronomy and an unusual presentation of food, which includes, for example, the serving of caramelized olives in the form of a bonsai tree. The highlight of the establishment is a set of five snacks that demonstrate the tastes of cuisines from different parts of the world. For example, a small ball of frozen fish mass seasoned with spices and dipped in cocoa butter represents Thai cuisine. If you decide to visit the establishment, be sure to reserve a table in advance.
2nd place – Osteria Francescana, Modena, Italy
The restaurant was created by chef Massimo Bottura in Modena, one of the largest gastronomic centers in Italy. The establishment is awarded three Michelin stars and occupies the first position in the Italian food guide l'Espresso — Ristoranti d'Italia with a rating of 20/20. Visitors here are treated to exquisitely presented dishes that have very fantastic names, such as "Eel that swims up the Po River". Those who are in the establishment for the first time are advised to order a tasting set of 12 dishes.
3rd place – Noma, Copenhagen, Denmark
The establishment was opened in 2004 by chef René Redzepi. It was chosen as the best restaurant in the world in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014 by the British magazine "Restaurant". It is also awarded three stars of the Red Michelin Guide. The name of the restaurant is an abbreviation of the words "nordisk" (northern) and "mad" (food). The restaurant serves Scandinavian cuisine, but the chefs have rethought it a bit. Currently, the restaurant's dishes are more a modern interpretation of Nordic cuisine than classic cuisine, which includes snails, sea buckthorn, wild herbs and even deer moss.
4th place - Mugaritz, Renteria, Spain
The restaurant was opened in 1998 by chef Andoni Luis Aduriz. Only local ingredients are used to prepare dishes at the establishment. Cozy traditional interior in a Basque country house with warm wooden walls and exposed beams adds a special atmosphere.
5th place – Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, London, Great Britain
The restaurant's menu is based on classic British dishes researched by food historians and the British Library. The meat fruit is the most popular among guests of the establishment: a mousse made of chicken liver, similar to a textured tangerine. The flesh fruit proved so popular that by November 2011, around 900 were being sold per week, and the restaurant had increased production to be able to supply up to 1,200 per week.

Mauro Colagreco grows most of the fruits, vegetables and herbs in his own garden, where more than a hundred of their names grow. Fish caught in the Mediterranean Sea in the morning is often used as the main dish.

The most famous dishes are juicy Palamos shrimp, homemade grilled chorizo sausages, huge tomahawk steak and smoked ice cream with a hint of smoke. The establishment is also awarded one star of the Michelin Red Guide.
